Splendora Travel Club Explore Greece and Italy

From June 8–17, four SHS students, a parent, an SHS graduate, and Travel Club sponsor Amber Patterson spent 10 days exploring some of Europe's most famous destinations.
The adventure began in Athens, where the group swam in the Aegean Sea and visited the Olympic Stadium, the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Acropolis. They also enjoyed an evening of traditional Greek dancing, with Avery Robinson earning the title of star dancer of the night!
The group continued to Delphi, where they explored the Temple of Apollo and museum, before traveling through the mountains to Meteora. There, they visited one of the area's six famous monasteries, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
An overnight ferry then took the travelers to Italy, where they spent time in Florence and Rome. Highlights included the Ponte Vecchio, the Roman Colosseum, and a guided tour of Vatican City.
The trip ended on a delicious note with a cooking class in Rome. The group learned to make fresh pasta, sauce, and tiramisu — and then enjoyed their creations together!
It was an incredible 10 days filled with history, culture, new experiences, and memories. Those interested in traveling with the Splendora Travel Club in 2027 or 2028 should be on the lookout for an upcoming informational meeting!
